WE ACCEPT most paperback and hardback books, college and homeschooling textbooks, study guides, workbooks if they are deemed sellable, DVDs in original boxes,CDs if they have no scratches and are in an unbroken jewel case with original artwork, puzzles, games, please ask!!

WE DO NOT ACCEPT for trade credit (you can still bring them in, I will find a new home for them for you) - VHS videos, Reader's Digest, USED study guides, workbooks, lab manuals, previously-issued school textbooks, magazines and journals, incomplete book sets, older Harlequin or Harlequin Presents, books in poor condition or any item we believe we cannot sell.

CONDITION: Please bring in only books that are in clean, readable condition with covers and spines intact. Books should not smell of cigarette smoke. Moldy or torn books, spiders, bugs, pet hair, and dirt are not very inviting, and we ask that you sort these out before bringing them in. We will refuse to evaluate books that may pose a hazard to the health of our staff. While both hardcover and paperback books have used bookstore appeal, a marked, highlighted, tattered, dog eared book loses value fast. A paperback book loses its value if the binding is stretched or the pages are bent. To eliminate creases, use a bookmark and stop folding those pages. Don’t over-flex the binding; most paperbacks will split easily. We always prefer to buy a hardcover book with its dust jacket, but don’t let that stop you from bringing us the ones that lack them, but realize only high demand ones are normally taken.

TRADING: Store credit is issued for items you wish to trade with us. Your credit has NO expiration date. Once you accept the credit for your merchandise, that credit cannot be changed and merchandise becomes store property. We have a 50/50 system of using your trade. Please make sure you understand the rules before leaving your items with us for trade. If you leave your books on our porch or by the front door, they will receive NO credit and we will not be responsible for figuring out where they came from and who gets credit and will consider them a donation.

CREDIT: We issue trade credit based on the current demand and sale-ability of a book. Credit is often – but not always – based on a percentage of the original list price of the book and may vary. Credit may be used to pay for one-half (1/2) of your used book purchase. The other half (1/2) of the used book purchase price will be paid in cash/check/charge. Credit may not be used towards new books, or any other items other than used books, videos, CDs and DVDs. Credit accounts may not be “cashed out” at any time. Credits do not expire as long as we are in business. To stay in business we MUST have cash business. We cannot pay our bills in books, so cash is a must. YOU MAY use your store credit for any item in the store with the exception of NEW books from the front counter, accessories and a few other items marked “No Trade” as well as local signed copies of books CDs, art and a few other local items.”

LIMITS on incoming items: If you bring in more than we can process at the incoming desk in a reasonable amount of time, we will ask you to leave them as a large order and pick up later in the day or the next day. If you choose to leave items at our trade-in center, you are agreeing to the credit and disposal of your unwanted items to the charity of our choosing. We cannot hold any items for pick up more than a few items, they will be put outside where they are not in our control.

SELLING: You may be able to get store credit for the items that meet our resale guidelines or a smaller percentage in cash. The trade percentages are a percentage of our intended selling price for each item. You can generally expect up to 35% of the selling price for most items. Cash is rarely paid out for items unless we have a large need for an author, title or genre but you may ask. Cash price is normally up to 25 cents for paperbacks and 50 cents for hardbacks.

The amount we offer for merchandise, in cash or credit, is NOT negotiable. Prices and policies are subject to change at any time.
